Meet The Team
Rothwell Construction is like an ice hockey team, where every player brings their unique skills, working together to achieve a common goal. Just like a well-coordinated team on the ice, we collaborate, strategize, and hustle to deliver exceptional results for our clients. Each member of our team plays a vital role, whether it's making the big play or supporting from behind the scenes, ensuring that we all win together.

I grew up in Christchurch, and from a young age I knew I wanted to be a builder.
That desire never wavered, and after high school, I completed a pre-trade course and did work experience, which led to my first building job with a small business.
I look back on that first year fondly, certain songs from that time always take me back. It’s also when I met Bec through a friend, though neither of us were interested at first. But after a few more meetings, we realized that the other was a bit of alright.
The 2008 recession hit, and my first job ended after a year, I still kept in touch with Dave and Roger, Dave even named his daughter after me (kind of).
I joined Higgs Construction, specialising in commercial construction, and completed my apprenticeship there.
After a while, I grew restless with the slow pace of long-term projects and decided to return to residential building.During this time, Bec and I grew closer, married, and started a family. Now, with two boys, we’re busy, but it’s a kind of construction project full of love and surprises that I wouldn’t trade for anything.
In residential building, I found my stride, working on everything from decks and small renovations to award-winning architectural homes. Each project brought new challenges, and I loved turning someone’s vision into reality.
Looking back, my journey has been one of growth, both professionally and personally. I’ve learned to adapt, take risks, and stay true to my passion for building, and in the process, I’ve built not just homes, but a life I’m proud of.

Admin Manager/ Social Media
(Right Defender #22)
Bec is originally from Kaikoura and has strong family ties to the area.
Growing up on various farms as her family slowly migrated south, they finally settled in the Burnham area just outside of Rolleston. Bec attended Villa Maria where she met her friend that would eventually introduce her to me.
After high school, Bec completed her teaching degree and taught at a few different schools before starting our family.
Bec continued to work in the school setting as the receptionist and admin manager of the school, making sure the school runs smoothly day to day with the holidays off to spend time with our boys.
Bec's background in teaching and admin proves very helpful in running our family lives and supporting the team at Rothwell Construction.
Her unrivaled empathy and drive to make sure everyone else is looked after and ok truly makes her a one of a kind and the perfect partner for me.
Outside of work Bec enjoys baking, arts and crafts and finding new places to explore with the family.
Huge shout out to the front attacking line circling the goal and making the plays!
They are also not huge fans of having their photos taken so we better show them some love.

Jason came to the Rothwell team with construction experience (landscaping and carpentry) in both New Zealand and overseas. In his spare time, he enjoys getting out and about in the great outdoors and keeping fit in the gym.
These two on the other hand love any photo op!
"Bert and Ernie"
Children/Mini Me's (Goal Tenders-15 and 16)
These two agents of chaos like to think they are the real bosses and occasionally enjoy accompanying me to site to oversee my oversight of the builds.
"Bert (Goalie-15)" jumps back and forth on whether he wants to be a farmer or a builder (I say it would be more useful to me if he became a plumber or a sparkie!) and loves to know where every job is at.
"Ernie (Goalie-16)" currently has his eye set on being a high school teacher. We give this six months before he changes his mind! Not overly fussed about where the jobs are at just likes to see the guys and have a yarn.
Outside of school they love exploring with Mum and Dad, going to the pools, "accidentally" getting wet at the beach in their clothes, going to the sport centre to play some inline hockey and most importantly telling Mum and Dad what's what.
